Best Birthday is a useful utility that helps you organizing and viewing anniversaries in a handy way: monthly anniversaries view of contacts found in Contacts applications, alarms in Calendar associated with them, ability to perform fully customizable export of anniversaries from Contacts to Calendar and much more.
Features

1. Uses information from native Contacts and Calendar databases, so you don’t have to enter contact information twice
2. Gives the possibility to create greeting messages based on templates
3. Easy to use and intuitive user interface
4. Ability to sort birthdays by different criteria
5. Allows making a call right from within the application
6. Possibility to divide anniversaries view by month and Zodiac sign

Anniversaries view

Best Birthday is fully integrated with built-in Calendar and Contacts applications. It collects all anniversaries found in Contacts and associates them with records in Calendar.
You can easily customize order, in which you’d like birthdays to be shown. This can be done with the help of menu command “Sort by”:

1. Order ascending / descending;
2. Sort by name;
3. Sort by date;
4. Sort by days left;
5. Sort by months left;
6. Split by month - lets you divide all birthdays into months. All the birthdays of a chosen month will be shown on one page, to change current month just press Left/Right arrow;
7. Split by zodiac - works similarly to “Split by month”, but divides birthdays by Zodiac signs;

Best Birthday has a reach set of functions, such as:

1. Add/Edit/Delete Contact;
2. Add/Delete Calendar reminder;
3. Find birthday by name;
4. Send greeting message to contact,
   For convenient greetings sending you can use a template defined in the Settings dialog.
   You can enter patterns “%FirstName%” and “%LastName%” in the template, which will be replaced by contact data at the time of specific message creation basing on template;
5. Call contact directly from Best Birthday;

How to add a birthday:

All data about a birthday is stored in Contacts.
In order to add a birthday to an existing contact choose command New from contact.
If you want to add a birth date but you don’t have a corresponding contact use command New to create a new contact with birth date.
How to add Calendar reminder:
Best Birthday lets you add Anniversary type reminders in your Calendar. When you add a calendar event, you can configure the following settings:

1. Alarm enabled / disabled;
2. Days before;
3. Alarm time;

Note: If you want to add a lot of records in the calendar at one time, use the Mark all command from menu Mark.

Some useful features:

1. Find birthday (hot key: 5) - lets you easily find any contact by name or surname;
2. Find next birthday (hot key: Pen+5) ;
3. Go to today - finds the closest birthday to the current date;
4. Refresh contacts - refreshes contacts, happens every time Best Birthday starts;

WidSets 2.0 beta s60v3

The Widsets 2.0 beta site recently went live which means you can now download and test the latest version of the Widsets client. New features include better integration between Widsets and the rest of the device including the ability to initiate a phone call or open a browser window. Widsets is a way to get web content on your mobile via widgetisation. Read on for more.

Widsets has been around since the summer of 2006 (but only really took off last year). It has continued to evolve at an impressive pace and the new version holds a great deal more functionality that the original version. The basic idea is presenting digestible web content optimised for consumption of a mobile device through a ‘dashboard / desktop’ and ‘widget / application’ interface. Widgets are arranged on the dashboard and each widget can be opened to view the contents. The basic Widgets are RSS feeds wrapped in an attractive package, but there are also a number of small games and utility widgets. New to this beta is the Push E-mail widget.

The new version is also faster loading and is smoother in operation. The overall impression
is of a much more polished application. Note the new ability to ‘Move’ Widgets around the dashboard. This
together with the on device Widget library means in practical to use Widsets without going near the PC site.

Here the Guardian Widget demonstrates the new ability to open the link in a browser. This addresses one of the
longest standard limitations of Widsets and makes the whole Widsets system much more useful.

The beta also includes other recent updates / new features such as the ability to rearrange widgets on the device (previously this had to be done via the Widsets website) and the creation of new widgets from with the application.

EQ Soft have just released a great new utility called EQ AltTab, that allows S60 3rd users to effortlessly switch between any open application with the quick press of a button (Or two in this case). As you can see in the image, it very closely resembles that of a Windows system and brings a whole new light to multi-tasking!

EQ AltTab also contains a very simple, yet effective UI to configure the main aspects of the application. The hotkey and icon size can easily be edited to suit the users personal requirements, and exceptions can even be made to allow certain applications to be ignored when displaying the selection window.

The Application itself runs seamlessly in the background with no indication of presense in the task manager at all and supports full automatic start-up upon booting the phone.
