OggPlay is an audio player for smartphones. OggPlay was initially written for SonyEriccson P800 and then released under the GPL by Leif H. Wilden. In a true open source project, OggPlay has been since ported to several Symbian phones.

Users that have OggPlay 1.70 or 1.71 installed on their phone

1. First uninstall the version of OggPlay installed on your phone.
Important: Turn your phone off and on again before attempting to uninstall.
Start the application manager, scroll through the list to OggPlay and then select Remove from the Options menu.

2. Install OggPlayFonts.sis (please read the installation issues below before installing)
Important: After OggPlayFonts.sis is installed turn your phone off and on again

3. Install OggPlayS60V3_1_72.sis

Users that have OggPlay 1.71a or later installed on their phone

2. If you had any skin packages installed the upgrade will have removed them, so you’ll have to re-install them.

Developer and Publisher GlobalFun and Adult Swim, the adult orientated animation programming from Turner Broadcasting System, have announced a partnership to develop mobile games based on Adult Swim properties, the first title announced a mobile version of The Brak Show.

The Brak Show is to be a sim of game in the vein of The Sims and is to contain elements and characters from the show. GlobalFun is also, for certain selected markets, to distribute the title to carriers.

“The Brak Show is one of Adult Swim’s leading programmes and we believe this show can work well on mobile. GlobalFun have done a fantastic job translating the spirit of the show to a mobile platform which will complement Adult Swim’s distribution,” commented Alan Musa, Adult Swim Channel Manager.

“The properties of Turner and the way the creative process is being approached suits us very well as a game development company. The application determines the location with a Bluetooth GPS receiver and transmits the tracking data to a server in real-time through a cellular packet data connection.

Individual users can use Aspicore GSM Tracker for personal location tracking. They can e.g. automatically publish their current location and daily track on their web page.

Communication is fast and reliable and costs are low, because the application uses packet data transfer technology and a very compact messaging protocol. The latency between the actual GPS position fix and data receive event in the server is normally only a few seconds.

The application is not a standalone system. It is a component, which must be integrated into a tracking system before its full power can be utilized.

NB. Some of the sample screenshot images contain functionality, which is not included inside the application. ‘Tracking Juha’ info display is done with a PHP script running in a PC computer. The map is from the S60 web browser after selecting “Current position” -> “Show in browser” from the application’s Options menu. Bluetooth GPS device or a cell phone with integrated GPS is recommended. The possible GPS must be purchased separately.
