* Country information has been updated as of 17 January 2008.
* In the Geography category, two new fields focus on the increasingly vital resource of water: “Total renewable water resources” and “Freshwater withdrawal.”
* In the Economy category, three fields have been added that focus on capital stocks and investment. They are “Stock of direct foreign investment - at home,” “Stock of direct foreign investment - abroad,” and “Market value of publicly traded shares.”
* In the Notes and Definitions, c oncise descriptions have been added of the major religions mentioned in the Factbook .
* Several notable geographic changes have occurred. The US Board on Geographic Names (BGN) now recognizes Timor-Leste as the short form name for East Timor ; its description may be found under this new designation. How to install ?

The world factbook 2008 comes in html format, and then I converted it into .pdb format.

Why “.pdb” format? because this format is fast than PDF format and Java applications, it can be used in different devises including Symbian supported devices, it can be read by iSilo software.

For S60 Edition:

1. Install iSilo on device, you can find the latest version v.5.01 HERE
2. Download all parts attached and unrar any one part, and transfer to your memory card, put it in “E:/Documents/iSilo” directory
3. Open iSilo software and than chose “CIA_World_Fact_Book_2008″ open it and then click on Menu(*)-> Edit->Options->Layout->Disable table layout->Ok (*)not the phone menu

A Pruss Accenter v1.00 PalmOS ed-HSpda

1SRC member Alexander Pruss has released another useful Palm OS application that makes it very easy to enter accected characters on your handheld or smartphone.

Easily enter accented characters for European languages. Just type (or enter with Graffiti) the base letter, and you will see boxes pop up showing possible accents–if you want one, a single press of your PDA’s 5-way controller (on Palm/PalmOne/Treo devices; on other devices, other keys need to be used) will select the accented letter you want. If you don’t want an accented letter, just keep on typing, and the boxes automatically disappear. This may be the fastest way of typing in German, French, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese and other European languages. You can customize the accent selection.

Aigner Delete Duplicated Data v1.01.PalmOS.ed-HSpda

Delete Double Records (DDD) is a powerful tool, which cleans duplicated entries in the four main applications:
- Date Book (Calendar),
- Contacts (Address),
- To Do List and
- Memo Pad,
which can appear with conduit problems on the Hotsync process.

DDD has different methods:
- Search only (searches only and does nothing else)
- Search and Delete double records
- Search and move of duplicate records to a special category. You can then on the PC, after the Hotsync process, check them delete them there.

Delete Double Records (DDD) moves or deletes only data records where all fields are exactly the same. The only exception is when there are more fields in in one record filled than in an other record, the record with the more data is kept, while the other one is deleted. This is important when you have added some note or new telephone numbers after the records have been duplicated. Additionally DDD has a special search to clean duplicate entries when having problems with handling PocketMirror.

Delete Double Records (DDD)
- is very very fast, because it considers the sort order of the databases,
- works with DateBk, because it uses the same databases,
- allows the possibility to search/delete/move in all 4 applications at the same task.
