Of all the dream jobs we could have in Hollywood, we’re not entirely sure that stuntman would be at the top of the list. We’re not asking for much given our inglorious performances at various junior school Christmas plays, a leading man or woman role isn’t likely, even in our fantasies but being George Clooney’s personal dresser or Angelina Jolie’s fitness instructor would certainly be preferable to stepping forward to be burned, crashed, dropped on and generally manhandled.

At the beginning of the take you’re given your instructions and from then on it’s up to you to follow them to the letter. Miss one of the cues icons that hover above the point where you need to perform a particular action and the increasingly frustrated director will yell “”CUT!”" and you’ll need to try again.

It’s an interesting idea and one that becomes progressively harder as you get deeper and deeper into the three movies you’re hired to work on. Not only do the directions get more specific and complex (destroying a pile of crates while performing a vehicular back-flip is just one of the easier examples), they also begin to become more numerous, so that you eventually end up stringing together several audacious automobile acrobatics.

If you’re wondering quite how you wrest a 360-degree front-flip from a one-tonne lump of pig iron and rubber, it’ll be of little surprise to read that Stuntman Ignition takes a rather dim view of the laws of physics. In fact, it squishes them into one of those circus cannons and fires them out over the horizon.

So it is that on some levels you spend more time in the air than on the ground, gliding as gracefully as a ballerina over all the carefully placed props, ramps and silver stars that you can collect, in order to score extra points and positively influence the reviews of your movie once it’s wrapped and has been released to theatre.

This all happens in a side-scrolling 2D environment, and there’s a strong sense of Turbo Camels: Circus Extreme and the very amusing Johnny Crash series of games here, not only in execution but also in the controls by pushing up on your handset’s D-pad you accelerate your steel steed and brake by pushing down. Left and right don’t come into action until you’re airborne, at which point you can rotate your car, either setting yourself up for a smooth landing or performing one of the aforementioned flips.

Of course, if it were this safe and simple we’d all be stuntpersons. Unfortunately, it isn’t. First, your car will only take so much punishment before expiring and, if it does wheeze its last before the end of the scene, a re-shoot will be required. Second, you’ll need to keep pace with the camera If you drop out of shot by being too slow, another take is a given.

Allied to the complexity of the directions you’re given, it all **** up to a very demanding job indeed. But at no time is it ever anything but an absolute blast, even if you do make an absolute hash of things and (accidentally) plant a four-wheel touchdown on the heroine’s head.

That there are just 27 levels of adrenaline-fuelled movie madness might seem a bit meagre, but in reality it’s plenty to keep you occupied. Obviously there’s the difficulty of the later scenes, which we’ll be amazed if you finish first time out, and then there are the grades (each scene you complete earns you a silver or gold star) and prizes for the longest jump and other such accomplishments that you’ll want to secure.

Ultimately, the manic Stuntman Ignition emerges as the perfect antidote to all those po-faced driving games that have hit the virtual shelves of your operator’s games portal recently.

Stuntman Ignition has everything you could expect and delivers hours of fun.

Adventure games are not the common genre on the mobile java games platform. This genre is represented for example by excellent trilogy Darkest Fear from Rovio Mobile, Dragon and Jade from the same developer, Stranded from Glu Mobile, Lost from or Amy’s Adventure from Handygames. The point and click adventure games genre was very popular in the starting era of PC games in the first half of nineties, the representatives of this time period are Indiana Jones games or Broken Sword. Nowhere is not typical adventure game, but has lot of common with this genre. The main characteristic of adventure games genre is strong story, lot of dialogues, collecting various items and using them in the right situations and thinking what to do next for game progress. You will do all this activities in Nowhere.

Developer of this game is company DeValley Entertainment, the producer of Holy Wars – Sons of Henoch, Knight Tales – Land of Bitterness or Rambo on Fire. DeValley Entertainment is a French company, but not as popular as another French developer . Game Somewhere could get DeValley Entertainment to the first league developers, because it is a pretty good game.

Nowhere is not the pure adventure game. It is a mixture of adventure, action and survival horror game. The story has very important role in this game. You play John… or Lucas. To tell you the truth you don’t know well. Around you everybody looks the same, places seem void and a feeling of deja vu lingers on. Nowhere is a horrific adventure, full of twists. You will explore the depths of the human soul and try to unveil the mystery hidden behind Emily’s door. You have to be quiet, avoid the strange creatures that live in the world around you, hide in the shadows and kill only if you really need to. The only thing left for you to concentrate on is your survival. Nowhere has perfect scenario. There are many dialogues between the characters; you will find the messages in the rooms, there are many unpredictable twists in the game and you never know what will happen next. The game’s story reminded me the movies Premonition, Number 23 or also the Sixth Sense. If you have seen these movies, you know what I am talking about. Nowhere’s story has the features of the mysterious movie. The story is just great, it is comparable to the scenarios of PC games. It is a very good work of the DeValley team.

Graphics of the game is also brilliant. It is isometric graphics, similar to graphics of the game Lost or Stranded. It is detailed and the environment seems really ghostly, if you have played one of the Darkest Fear games, you can imagine it. You will enter various dark places, the games takes place during nights. You will visit various houses, forests, abandoned buildings or roads full of destroyed and abandoned cars. Nowhere is a survival horror, so prepare for gory and violent scenes. There is lot of blood in the game, if you get hurt, your character will bleed and there will be bloody puddles behind you on the ground. If you kill enemy you will see geyser of blood. Your primary weapon is the axe, so prepare for real massacres of the enemies. The developers tried to make violent scenes very realistic. The game is not suitable for kids; I think that it should be accessible only for the gamers over 18 years.

Please, don’t play this game without sounds. You will miss one of the best mobile games soundtracks. I was pleased by the soundtrack of game The Witcher: Crimson Trail, but the soundtrack of Nowhere is even better. When you start the game for the first time, you will look around and you will try to find out where the open window in your house is, because you will hear the whistling of the wind. You will hear it already during the logo of publisher and developer before beginning of the game. The music in the game supports the atmosphere of the game and is inseparable from the game. You will hear various tracks in various parts of the game, sometimes slow themes, sometimes action themes depending on the game progress. My only reproach is the absence of game sounds; if you shoot you will hear no sound of shooting, etc. The developers could add also this feature, the sounds would be without fault then. It was for example the feature of game Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia. In spite of this has the music of Nowhere high quality.

The first part of game menu with the name of the game is very impressive and evokes really horror atmosphere. You will find various items during your game progress, various weapons, shells or medikits. The saving system is quite weird. The save options is always available, but also if you save your game, it will be not saved right at this moment. You have to get to the checkpoint (fulfill the task, kill the boss) in order to save the game. Controls of the game are without trouble. The playing system is similar to the system in the game Darkest Fear. You have to be in the shadows in order to avoid the enemies. They are very strong and it is not very wise to go to direct confrontation with them in the first phase of the game. You will have to solve also the logical puzzles from time to time. In the later parts of the game is also important killing of the enemies, you will find shotgun or pneumatic drill. Problematic are the bosses, you will have to find the appropriate strategy for killing them. My strongest experience in the game was the gigantic snail. I was walking on the road in the forest and suddenly the snake appeared. It was huge; he was displayed on the whole display. I remained standing on the edge of the road and the snail disappeared in the forest. The game has its own world and you are only a part of it, it lives its own life. You can’t stop playing this game because you want to know what will happen next. Motivation is excellent; this game will sucks you in. Little problem of the game are hints. The whole world of the game is opened from the beginning; you can go to various parts of this world from the beginning. Many times I didn’t know where to go. Developers could add the hints in the game menu, something like “mission” or “task” option. I got stuck many times and I had to walk to various places until I found the right place. The playing time of the game is approximately 6 hours. I played it for more than 3 hours and I was at the beginning of the second half of the game. It is not the game for the couple of minutes; it requires more time to play.

I have never heard about this game before. The players look forward to many games for 2 or 3 months before their publishing and after their release it is a big disappointment (for example java games Need For Speed: ProStreet or Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare). There are also the java games which suddenly appear and they become big hits. Nowhere is a big hit. It is one of the biggest surprises of year 2007 for me (for me was the biggest surprise in year 2006 game The Fourth Seal from company Unkasoft). DeValley Entertainment is showing that we must count with another clever developer from France. should be watchful, because one of his biggest competitors comes from its own country. I congratulate DeVallay Entertainment to one of the best games of year 2007. The graphics and sounds work together very well and the game presents us excellent entertainment. I do not recommend playing of the game in night and especially when you are alone in the night. It is like watching good horror movie, Nowhere has excellent atmosphere. Mobile java games have big future ahead. They are no more only the simple games like Snake or Tetris; they are not developed only for young teenagers and casual players. Mobile games are also the entertainment for adult players, who are demanding and require intelligent gameplay, interesting story, long playing time and want think during the playing. The game Nowhere provides you all this features. Don’t watch the survival horror on your DVD, let’s play it with us on your mobile phone. Prepare for FEAR!
