Instructions

Java Application Symbian Application
Verify that internet is currently functioning on your phone, MobiChat will not work with out this.
Ensure your phone is compatible with the Java application, then install it on your phone.
Start the application and go to “Setup”.
For trial account, a MobiChat login is not required, you can leave that section blank.
Select MSN/Yahoo/AIM and enter your IM account details.
Once you have completed adding your IM account details, select “Setup Complete”.
You will return to the MobiChat screen then select “Login” and permit network access.
To activate trial, read IMPORTANT message once logged in.
Verify that internet is currently functioning on your phone, MobiChat will not work with out this.
Ensure your phone is compatible with the Symbian application, then install it on your phone.
For trial account, leave the login details empty and select “Connect”. The application will start connecting to the MobiChat server.
Once connected, “MobiChat - Online” will be displayed on the contact list. To activate trial, read IMPORTANT message once logged in.
Select “Options” then select “Connect”.
Select your instant messenger account from the list, enter your login details then select “Connect”.
MobiChat will then connect to that IM account and your contact list shall appear. Repeat step 4 & 5 to connect to other accounts. ICQ will be available soon.

Anyview v3 ebook reader

What is Anyview

Anyview is a free ebook reader for mobile phones. Anyview is written in Java, therefore should run on any phone that supports Java, and supports the JSR-75 standard. It is known to run successfully on more than 100 phone models from SonyEricsson, Motorola, and Nokia.

Anyview Features

Anyview has following features:

It can read files of type TXT, HTML, PDB and UMD comic format as well as display GIF, JPEG and PNG files.
Can handle UTF-8, GB2312 and Unicode - so can display Spanish and other language texts.
Fully touch screen enabled (for those phones with touch screens)
Very fast and responsive
Can open files directly from your phone - no need to add text file into jar file (as you have to do with most other ebook readers)
Has great page turning capability - you use 2/8 keys (or touch page) for page scroll and 4/6 keys (or use joystick) for line scroll. You can also turn on automatic scrolling.
Has Search, Jump to and bookmark features - everything you would expect of an ebook reader.
It supports reading directly from ZIP files - so your ebooks can take up less space on your phone.
Provides flexible customization capabilities with more than 50 user-customizable settings such as font size, colors, screen layout, etc. These preferences can be saved in Settings files and you can set up multiple settings files for use with different document types.
History

Anyview is not a commercial product, but was was developed in my spare time over the past 2 years. It has slowly improved from the initial simple TXT reader of Release 0.2 to the current 3.1 version which can handle many different file formats. Originally written to only work on E680/A780 phones, it now works on hundreds of models. Many friends have given me encouragement and advice with this development effort with the result that I believe that Anyview is now the best ebook reader available for Java enabled phones.

Installing Anyview

Anyview should be installed on your phone just like any other jar file. That is normally done by:

Download the rar file containing the latest version of Anyview and uncompress (unrar) it
Copy the fairy.jar file to the memory card in your phone
Click on the fairy.jar file to install the application. The application MUST BE installed on your memory card not the phone - otherwise it will not work correctly.

Before you can use it you must change the permissions of the app to allow it to read and write files from the phone’s file system. This is done by editing the registry.txt file associated with Anyview. You do this as follows:

After installing Anyview, plug the phone into the PC
Using windows explorer navigate to \.system\java\DownloadApps\MIDletXXXX on your SD card where MIDletXXXX is the last directory in DownloadApps in alphabetic ascending order.
Make a copy of the file registry.tx (in case you need to recover original file)
Edit the file registry.txt with a editor compatible with unix (eg wordpad). Do not use MS Word or Notepad! (Be sure the file has a line saying: Jar-URL: Anyview.jar - if not, you are in the wrong directory)
Change the values to these ones
- DRM-Mode: Allowed
- Is-Trusted: 1
- Domain: Manufacturer
Save the file and disconnect from PC
Go to the apps icon and hold the stylus until popup menu appears. Select Manage –> Change permission
Click OK (no need to change anything - that just forces new permissions to take effect)
The app should now be able to read and write files.

Overview

By checking your position every second against a database of known cameras, CamerAware can help you be a safer driver, and of course help protect you against fines and penalty points for inadvertently speeding past a Camera.

A CamerAware licence, sold at a one-off fee, includes lifetime application updates, as well as a FREE licence to the MoDaCo Camera database - a database that is officially licenced from one of the best known suppliers of Safety Camera locations, together with CamerAware customisations. The database provides excellent UK coverage and partial European coverage, with nearly 10,000 cameras! USA support is also planned for future updates.

How do I know if my particular device / Bluetooth configuration is supported?

The best way to be sure that your configuration is supported before purchasing the application is to try it! CamerAware can be downloaded and installed free of charge, allowing you to check that it connects to your GPS and runs correctly. When you are happy that this is the case, you can then purchase a serial number and activation code to enable alerting functionality.

With the base CamerAware download, you can connect to your GPS, see your speed and heading, and be sure that it is working correctly. You can also use the exciting personal tracking features in CamerAware.

Will CamerAware work with my navigation software?

CamerAware is designed to run as a standalone application, rather than to integrate or run alongside any navigation software. However, a number of members have reported that, as CamerAware takes advantage of the Windows Mobile 5 intermediary driver, the application runs happily alongside navigation software. Check out the support forum for more details. As the free install is fully functional from a GPS perspective, you are free to try it out!

Are you going to be updating CamerAware in the future?

Yes! Now that version our initial release is shipping, there is already a list of features that are planned for future updates! As a CamerAware customer, you will also be able to input into it’s development. Planned features include a much enhanced position upload / logging feature and much much more.

CamerAware includes an online update feature in the application itself, enabling you to instantly check for - and install - new releases.

How often is the Camera database updated?

The Camera database is generally updated at least once a month, sometimes even more often! The Camera database too can also be downloaded directly within the application itself, over-the-air!

Anything else?

CamerAware also offers the facility to upload your position to our servers once every minute! If you are on a flat rate data plan, this allows you to publish your location, and is very cool! The interface is currently very simple, although significant enhancements are planned in the future.

One last thing… how do I get support?

Support is available via the CamerAware forum at MoDaCo, where you will receive excellent support from the development team, and your peers. This is also the place to suggest new features for future version!
