Description of all available settings for each category:

Position

Primary screen location of the ticker band.

Position (offset)

Absolute border distance in pixel depending on the above location.

Speed
0..5 speed level
Speed level (0 is slowest).

Visible

- Standby screen
If set to “Standby screen” the ticker band is visible only at the device standby screen and if S60 menu window is visible.

Header (clock)

If set to “on” the ticker header – currently only as type “clock” supported – is visible.

Autostart
- on
- off
If set to “on” will automatically start the ticker (S60TickerServer) into background/standby mode after a device reboot.
If set to “off” the ticker is not active after a device reboot.

Hotkey

- Joystick (long key press)
- Shift+Joystick
If enabled the hotkey can be used in two ways:
- Show a hidden ticker
- A visible ticker gets focus and will receive the following key inputs:
1. Pressing “C/DEL” cancels the current visible ticker element.
2. Cursor/joystick Up/Down switches to top or bottom location. If pressed again it will hide the ticker band.
3. Cursor/joystick Left/Right adjusts the ticker speed.

Device idle mode
- ignore
- prevent
If set to “prevent” keeps the device active as long as there are active ticker items in progress.
The backlight kept on – no screensaver will appear.

Inactivity timeout
5..300 seconds
If ticker elements are active and no more user activity recognized this is the timeout to automatically hide the ticker.
This option is ignored if “Device idle mode” is set to “prevent”.

Alarm display duration
-1,0..600 seconds
Display duration for system alarm ticker elements. If set to “0” no alarm messages are displayed – the function is disabled. If set to “-1” the duration is endless or till the alarm is canceled – the ticker element can be canceled by pressing “C/DEL” (see hotkey).

Theme support

(Supported for Nokia S60 FP1 onwards)

If set to “off” there are separate options available to set text and background colors.

Color text/background

If above theme support is set to “off” these options can be used to set individual RGB-color values for ticker text and background.

Current used font size in twips for above option ticker text font.

#2 Incoming SMS

Display duration
-1,0..600 seconds
Display duration for incoming SMS ticker elements. If set to “0” no incoming SMS are displayed – the function is disabled. If set to “-1” the duration is endless – the ticker element must be canceled by pressing “C/DEL” (see hotkey).

Mark as read

If incoming SMS are processed they can be marked as read. No more new-message-dialog will appear.

Show total message
- yes
- no
If set to “no” only the individual amount of characters are displayed (see option “Number of chars”). If set to “yes” the total message text is displayed.

Number of chars
0..any
Number of chars that are display if option “Show total message” is set to “no”. A value of “0” will just show senders information.

Counter
0..any
The number of processed incoming messages. This counter can be set to any value, any time too.

#3 Incoming Mail
(IMAP4, POP3, Exchange, BlackBerry Connect)

Display duration
-1,0..600 seconds
Display duration for incoming mail ticker elements. If set to “0” no incoming mails are displayed – the function is disabled. If set to “-1” the duration is endless – the ticker element must be canceled by pressing “C/DEL” (see hotkey).

Show total subject
- yes
- no
If set to “no” only the individual amount of characters are displayed (see option “Number of chars”). If set to “yes” the total message subject is displayed.

Number of chars
0..any
Number of chars that are display if option “Show total subject” is set to “no”. A value of “0” will just show senders information.

Counter
0..any
The number of processed incoming messages. This counter can be set to any value, any time too.

#4 Demomode

Message
(individual message text)
Individual message text to be displayed in demo mode.

Autostart

- no
If set to “yes” will automatically start the demo mode as soon as ticker (S60TickerServer) starts first time (e.g. on device reboot).
