Making ur very own Tripod fr ur N95(or with almost all mobiles))

The N95 Tripod Mod. A BEAUTY! :smile:

Well, guys/gals(if there r any), I think u r really going 2 like this 1. The N95 Ttripod made easy! Yes, thas rite, u can make ur own tripod stand easily and fr almost all the mobiles as wel. I hav done it in 1 way but u can do it ur own way. And it works a TREAT. What’s that?…… Let’s get started?………. Well OK here we go!!!!!!

All you need is a small-ish tripod designed fr ur pocket digi-cam(or anything with three legs wud do,so long as u can conect ur 3.5mm jack with it), and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable. At least that’s what I used. It could be 3.5mm 2 anything. U just need a 3.5mm jack. My original idea was 2 get an actual Phono -> 3.5mm jack, but a cable is going to be much better, especially if you can get 1 like I have pictured here, as the inside of it is mostly plastic, and u will be able 2 drill in2 it much easier.
So, grab 1 end of the cable, and slice the cable off with a pair of scissors. Slice that little bendy bit off too, so u r left with the jack only. Like this:

Now, get yourself something like a pair of grippers or even a vice, and whip out the ol’ power drill(if u dont hav 1 jus take it 2 a shop)as we need to drill a hole in this one! Have a look at the screw bit on the end of your tripod, and make the hole in the end of the jack slightly smaller in width. U shud end up with something like this:

We r on the home straight alrdy. Aren’t u excitd??…. Wel nxt take the jack and applying the necessary amount of pressure, screw the jack onto the end of ur tripod. As u can c, the inside of the jack will bcome threaded by the screw on ur tripod, and when u r finished, u wil hav a perfect, snug, stable fit. Ooooh yeeees!

And that’s it! U now have ur custom N95 tripod! And bcoz this procedure was non-destructive, u can screw the jack right off ur tripod, n use it with ur other camera…. Just remember that if u do, u r a traitor to us all. You should have thrown that other camera away by now, or given it to someone else. ;-)
So, here is the finished product, enjoy, my friends!

Give it some thought n Im sure that u can make a tripod out of a lot of things lying about. All u need is 1 little 3.5mm jack and the tools to stitch it to something solid and yes, a little bit o imagination. And that’s it, u wil hav ur very own (crafted by u) tripod stand. Use it to get some gr8 still shots or Close up shots or a good family portrait or some gr8 Panoramic shots and stitch them together using Photoshop. The result wil even surprise u. Trust me…….

The best way to understand easily would b 2 dwld the attachd MS WORD files(they also hav images atachd in them).
i) .doc ver. fr those with MS WORD 03 and pervious editions.
ii) .docx ver. fr those with MS WORD 07 edition(its in zip as mobilefunstuff doesnt support .docx yet).

Those who dont hav MS(Microsoft) WORD, not 2 wory, jus read the post n dwld the atachd images 1-4(n follow them serially).

I hope my N95 Tripod mod post is not modded by the mods n postd somewhere esle(Pun intended):smile:. Cuz this is the only section where i can share this idea with almost all the members…
