This program makes a patch to be used with ROMPatcher. The purpose of this patch is to force the phone to use files in C: before the same file in Z:

For example, if you have c:\resource\apps\About.r01
then it will take precedence over z:\resource\apps\About.r01

This is useful to fake Symbian so that it takes your own file, before the original one. As files in C: are read+write, you can modify them.

Instructions:

1. From your phone copy the file z:\sys\bin\EFSrv.dll to the PC in the same folder where you have c2z.exe and then run c2z.exe
2. It will generate the file c2z.rmp
3. Now copy the generated rmp file to your mobile in E:\Patches
4. Start ROMPatcher and enable the patch

Which files can be overriden?
At least *.RSC , *.MBM, *.INI, *.R??, *.TXT

Changelog 11.05.08:
:arrow: Now it can replace z:\resource\versions\sw.txt & z:\system\data\swipolicy.ini and many others. Therefore some of the previous patches are no longer needed.

How to remove the shutdown animation on branded N95.
Here’s the solution.
/// CAPS OFF IS NEEDED///

*to remove shutdown animation on branded device*
First copy
- SysAp.mif
from Z:\resource\Apps to C:\resource\Apps

Then make a copy of SysApShutdownAnimation.rsc from Z:\resource\Apps to E:\
-Now open it with Hex Editor.
-Search the path to z:\resource\apps\SysAp.mbm visually and change it to c:\resource\apps\SysAp.mbm
-Save the file.
(it’s the same procedure as on Startup.mbm)

After that also move the changed SysApShutdownAnimation.rsc to C:\resource\Apps

Now the animation should be gone.

*to enable or individualize shutdown animation *
Do all steps above but also copy SysAp.mbm to C:\resource\Apps

People that have an unbranded device won’t find a working SysApShutdownAnimation.rsc in their Z:
That’s why I attach it here (thx to pay87)

I have packed it together with a changed O2 shutdown animation.
(no time to create something myself, yet)
Put both files + the SysAp.mif in C:\resource\Apps and you have enabled a
shutdown animation.

You can use the included SysAp.mbm as Base for your own creations.

This should work at least for the devices that work with a modded startup.mbm
