mShell needs to be activated with a valid serial number. Upon first start of mShell a dialog to enter the serial number is presented. The serial number is then sent via SMS to a Swiss GSM mobile phone number and the activation server sends the individual activation key back by SMS.
Activation via SMS is by far the quickest and most convenient way to activate mShell and should be considered when ever possible.
Nevertheless, in some cases it is not possible to use the SMS based activation (no roaming to Switzerland, inactive or no SIM card, etc.) and therefore an alternative activation method is presented here.
How it works :

How to install:

1. Unpack the contents of this archive to the main folder of your memory card/mass storage. In E:\quake1 you should have two new directories: rogue and hipnotic;
2. Edit the contents of cmdline.q1 so that it looks similar to “-rogue -gamma 0.6 -fsaa” or “-hipnotic -gamma 0.6 -fsaa” respectively (the archive includes sample files);
3. Launch the game and it will use the mission pack as written in cmdline.q1.
