You are in a business meeting, a lecture, a library, or in some other place where talking on a mobile phone would be disruptive. Yet you receive calls, some of which are important. The proper handling of these calls from a listen-only environment is a cutting-edge business problem, and one that has now been solved by TalkinSilent, a new application from Silent Communication Ltd. The application enables you to answer the phone and respond to the caller by selecting and playing preset responses one at a time. You can select responses you have previously recorded in your own voice, or choose those spoken by a fully customizable male or female voice in the application. When you need to respond with a statement that is not pre-recorded, you can type in the response and a text-to-speech translator sends it as speech to the caller. In this way, you can communicate with callers who do not have text chat capabilities, and they will hear everything as speech. If the caller does have text chat capabilities, then the application also lets you invite the caller to a text chat. The application can be very amusing, the user can enrich his conversations by playing recordings of politicians, comedians, famous movie quotes and other funny noises and sounds.

The application also gives speech-impaired consumers the ability to use a mobile phone in their daily lives. Silent Communication has been working with the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication to explore the benefits of TalkinSilent for people who have difficulty speaking or cannot use their voices at all.

Y-Tasks is a collection of development helper tools for S60 3rd edition devices (Symbian OS 9 –>), as the version number shows they are beta versions and hopefully will be extended in the future, anyway have a try and let me know what you think about them.

Y-Tasks application and plug-in modules are all self-signed, thus they are missing some important functionalities. The main server is made to implement these functionalities, which currently include process & tasks Killing and changing file type mappings with Filetypes plug-in module. This sis file is unsigned and you are required to sign it with your own developer certificate..

How to start:

To send the file to your PC, open system application “File mgr.”, which can be found in “Organizer” folder of phone’s main menu, locate the file created in the process of saving and transfer it to your PC using Send command of File mgr.

TaskMan helps you control your device better. It shows full information about device memory, running applications, processes, opened files and installed applications. The software allows extended applications management and much more functions to explore.

Applications view
Shows the information about running applications. Here you can see how much memory a running application uses, switch to the selected application, close an application, close all applications, get application extended information (UIDs, memory usage, executable files, attributes and allowed capabilities).

Use “Misc\Options” command to configure the view:
- Show Hidden applications: define whether to view hidden apps or not. If it is On then hidden applications are marked with picture when shown in the list.

Memory view
This view shows memory and disks information. Allows you to compress memory as well.

Processes view
Shows running processes. Processes are sorted by ProcessId in descended order (last started process comes first in the list)
