NOKIA MAPS and What to Do

When downloading new maps using Nokia Map Loader the old ones are deleted Sooooooooooooooooooo

These methods will saves U having to constantly RE-Download Maps each time you need a new map or combinations of maps

MY SetUp
I use a card reader for my SD card connected Via USB ( Not so keen on the Nokia USB cable )

I use Map Loader Ver 1.3.5 and Nokia MAPs Ver 1.2 all for my dated but loved N80

Ive also done this on a friends N95 so Iam sure it works 4 all Nokia PHs that support MAPs

Also you must Run Nokia Maps at least once on your phone so it sets up the DIR structure E:/cities/

Maps are located E:/cities/diskcache/
Voices are located E:/cities/english/ (english being example)

Have not tried it on Nokia MAPs Ver 2.0 But it should work try it out

Method 1 ( Works if you need only 1 Lot of maps at a time (Eg Just Australia or Just Chile or Just India)

Method 2 ( Works if you need different combinations (Eg Australia Chile India Thailand England )

Method 1

Instead of using Map Loader go to h**p://nokiamaps.moo.no/ you will find all versions of Nokia Maps
also the Voices.

Download the Maps that you require they will be numbered zipped file (rename the zip files to a user friendly name)
Also download the Voices you need

Example: Australia is 15 Ive renamed as Australia_15
Chile is 115 Ive renamed as Chile_115
Etc Etc Etc the choice is up to you.

When you uncompress these files you will find the complete DIR Structure within

Copy all to DIR: E:/cities/diskcache/—–>Ur MAP Goes Here
Copy Voices DIR: E:/cities/—–>Ur Voice Goes Here

Put back in Phone and run MAPS it will all be good

Method 2

Use Nokia Map Loader 2 download the combination you require & the voice (EG English)

Save the DIR E:/cities/ to Computer HD and Zip Rar or Stuffit ( Rename Archive for easy use in future )

EG Aust-Chile-India-Thailand-England

Uncompress later and Put back in Phone and run MAPS it will all be good

These methods only let you have maps with no routing unless you Pay…………..
If any one knows how to H@ck the Routing function for MAPS with out paying Nokia there my friend for life

My self I’d prefer routing in my GPS apps

1) TOMTOM v6.02 Limited coverage to were I travel
2) ROUTE66 v7.00 Better coverage but TOMTOM is a better app
3) GARMIN XT But it needs more RAM than my PH can handle Coverage is only as good as TOMTOM
4) GPSMAP 2.31 is great if you want to scan maps and calibrate on Ur PH or Using OziExplorer on PC & MacTel
5) SMARTComGPS 1.55 same as above but Maps can only be calibrated using OziExplorer on PC & MacTel

Some Apps that Need Wifi or a active Network

Map24Mobile v3.0 ( has a PC Mactel App also)
Google Maps v2.07
MGMAPS
There more some are better than others

There No other way of installing Maps that Ive found Nokia has a Messy way of creating the DIRs Insane in the Membrain

Best Birthday is a useful utility that helps you organizing and viewing anniversaries in a handy way: monthly anniversaries view of contacts found in Contacts applications, alarms in Calendar associated with them, ability to perform fully customizable export of anniversaries from Contacts to Calendar and much more.

Best Birthday user guide

Uses information from native Contacts and Calendar databases, so you don’t have to enter contact information twice
Gives the possibility to create greeting messages based on templates
Easy to use and intuitive user interface
Ability to sort birthdays by different criteria
Allows making a call right from within the application
Possibility to divide anniversaries view by month and Zodiac sign

Anniversaries view

Best Birthday is fully integrated with built-in Calendar and Contacts applications. It collects all anniversaries found in Contacts and associates them with records in Calendar.
You can easily customize order, in which you’d like birthdays to be shown. This can be done with the help of menu command “Sort by”:

Order ascending / descending;
Sort by name;
Sort by date;
Sort by days left;
Sort by months left;
Split by month - lets you divide all birthdays into months. All the birthdays of a chosen month will be shown on one page, to change current month just press Left/Right arrow;
Split by zodiac - works similarly to “Split by month”, but divides birthdays by Zodiac signs;

Best Birthday has a reach set of functions, such as:

Add/Edit/Delete Contact;
Add/Delete Calendar reminder;
Find birthday by name;

How to add a birthday:

All data about a birthday is stored in Contacts.
In order to add a birthday to an existing contact choose command New from contact.
If you want to add a birth date but you don’t have a corresponding contact use command New to create a new contact with birth date.
How to add Calendar reminder:
Best Birthday lets you add Anniversary type reminders in your Calendar. When you add a calendar event, you can configure the following settings:

Alarm enabled / disabled;
Days before;
Alarm time;

Note: If you want to add a lot of records in the calendar at one time, use the Mark all command from menu Mark.

Some useful features:

Find birthday (hot key: 5) - lets you easily find any contact by name or surname;
Find next birthday (hot key: Pen+5) ;
Go to today - finds the closest birthday to the current date;
Refresh contacts - refreshes contacts, happens every time Best Birthday starts;

cCounter (see-counter) s60v3 flashlite

cCounter (pronounced “see-counter”) is a simple up/down counter written by SM Chiu, brain behind the cClock and cCam applications.

It is interesting that application is developed in Flash and of course requires flash lite 2.0 player for the proper work.

cCounter is very easy to use but still powerful counter that feature simple user interface for easy counting.

I guess that main goal was to developing comprehensible, small and accurate timing tool without bloating it with unnecessary features.

Its comfortable and simple user interface with clear and large time display and shortcuts support enables handy and smooth operation.

Count up, add one count.
Count down, subtract one count.
Reset.
Continuous increment count. Press key and hold .
Input target count and beep alert for target hit.
Preset start count (counting start value), default 0.
Count range (+/- 9999).
One temporary memory for storing your count value.
Error (-E, +E) for exceed count range.
