A highly regarded commercial J2ME title now released as open source. Take your pick from 10 maxed-out street legal racers and prove your mettle on 10 international tracks. The game has three modes of play, practice, tournament or time trial, with up to 8-way multiplayer on supporting handsets.

The version of the game available here only contains the three demo tracks, but the source code is exactly the same as the version on sale. Fire up Eclipse and grab the code to see how it was done, or simply download the editor and design your own tracks. As time goes by I’ll add documentation for the track editor and build process.

The game is localised in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Czech. The editors and tools are currently English only.

Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion is a child of id Software and the imagination of John Romero. John Carmack, Adrian Carmack and Tom Hall, the rising stars of id Software, joined him to develop the game. The game was developed on the enhanced Shadow Knights engine and was successfully released in 1991, quickly winning gamers’ sympathies all over the world.
The Dangerous Dave series contained several titles, but Romero has confessed that Dangerous Dave in The Haunted Mansion was the best of all the Daves created”.
When new, powerful computers arrived, Dangerous Dave in The Haunted Mansion was forgotten, but today we are proud to present the original Dangerous Dave in The Haunted Mansion as a Java game for mobile phones!
The creators of the mobile version did their best to recreate the gameplay, graphics and atmosphere of the most lovable game of 90s.

The work on the version for the 3rd generation of the Symbian OS is in progress - since January 2007. I finished the first version with an unsigned and untested status and plan to sign it when all things are verified by using the software. If you are interested you will need a Symbian developer account to sign it by your own.

* no CBS functions available - not available in this phone api or not found at the moment
* bitmap as picture for the cell are not shown
* WCDMA signals seems a little bit of frozen - that’s what the telephone api gives back
* bitmap for the signal values are only scaled so in some screen sizes it doesn’t look very nice
